The name comes from Matthew 13:45-46:
"Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a merchant on the lookout for fine pearls. On finding one very valuable pearl he went away, sold everything he owned and bought it." (Complete Jewish Bible)
I love this verse. It brings me back to Matthew 6:33, where Jesus says, "But seek first His Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."
I want to sell all I have to get the Kingdom of Heaven. Why don't I? Why don't I give all I have to just search Him out? This treasure is so much greater than all that I have. I just need to let go of the grip I have on the things that I have comfort in.
I will always be in search of the Fine Pearl. I pray that over you as well.
